Thanksgiving!

Just about every Thanksgiving we spend the day at my parents eating and normally watching football, while planning out our black Friday deals! This year was completely different. Michael was not going to be able to travel back home, so it was just the boys and I. My sister and her family had been invited to some friends for Thanksgiving, so my mom opted not to cook. I was kind of bummed since I love Thanksgiving food, but totally understood not cooking for so few people.

We woke up and spent most of the morning being lazy. We enjoyed a nice breakfast and followed up by catching the Macy's parade. That afternoon we headed to my parents to chill out.

It was nice to just relax and not worry about running around.

My dad's birthday is around Thanksgiving and sometimes it actually falls on Thanksgiving day. This year it happened to land on the Sunday following Thanksgiving. Since we didn't have a typical Thanksgiving meal, we decided to get together Saturday night for dinner and to celebrate his birthday.

I kind of enjoyed it a little better....we had steaks! Yummy!!

After dinner he opened his presents and if you know my dad he LOVES popcorn. I think if it was ever made into a food group by itself he would live on it! So it only seemed fitting for him to have his own pop corn machine. My mom picked up the machine, and we loaded his up with oil, popcorn and flavor salt.

Of course we had to try it out....and it was quite yummy!

Colin's Birthday Party!!

A few months ago I started brain storming about ideas for Colin's birthday. To be honest his 1st and 2nd birthday we didn't go all out. Last year we had a small family birthday since we were heading to the beach a few days later. So I wanted to have a "party" this year. Thanks to the "pinterest" and "etsy" I had plenty of things to choose from. Since he absolutely loves trains that is the way I wanted to go. He watches Thomas the Train, and honestly he kind of creeps me out a little. Plus I wanted to do something a little more creative. One night I was browsing Pinterest for Train themed birthday party's and stumbled across a lady who creates customizable party's. She had an adorable train party set that I just had to have, and she sold them on Etsy.

I planned on having the party at my parents house, since they have a little more room. We had the party the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and I am so happy how every things turned out.

I was able to customize everything, and print it from home.

We had lots of yummy food!!

For little "Thank You" gifts I made a "Candy Bar!" I printed up tags and glued them onto white bags, and each person was able to fill their bag with what ever they wanted!!

Can we say sugar rush!! Each kids also received their very own train whistle!!

My mom made the cupcakes, and they were so good! She found a train mold and even made the chocolate trains.

Colin got three of the Dinosaurs from the show "Dinosaur Train" which he LOVES!

Some fire truck blocks from Leigh, Kenny and the kiddo's!! Since Christian LOVES firetrucks it works out that Colin now can build his own.

And you can never go wrong with Geo-Tracks! We have a billion, so what's a few more...right?!?!

In all I think Colin had a fantastic birthday! I absolutely loved being about to customize everything form him.

Happy 3rd Birthday!! I can't believe that 3 years has already flown by. I can remember the day we found out you would be joining our family. You are such a joy to us and we love you so very much. You are ALL BOY!! You love dinosaurs, cars but by far you love trains more than anything. You adore you big brother, and play really well together. You are such a sweet loving boy, who say's "thank you" at everything.

You can count to 12, know some of your colors, and can carry on a good conversation with anyone and we know what you are saying. You learned how to hold your breath and swim this summer. When your playing you say "1,2,3 go" and take off. You have successfully overcome the paci, and are growing into such a sweet boy!

Happy Birthday to our first born, I can’t believe today you are 7!! Time really flies by so fast. I can remember the day your daddy and I found out we were pregnant with you!! My whole life I have always wanted to be a mommy and we are so thankful that God allowed us to be your parents. You have been an absolute joy in our lives, and we love you more than anything. You are super smart, and so inquisitive. You ask a lot of questions, and we love seeing your mind just work. You are very caring, compassionate and have a huge heart. You just finished the first grade and are so excited about going to 2nd. You still love firemen and still have your mind set on becoming one when you grow up. You like reading, playing outside, playing your DS, and playing with your Legos. You are a great big brother and Colin adores you and looks up to you so much. We are excited to see what year 7 holds for you and us!

Happy Birthday to ME!!

Happy 29th Birthday to me that is!!

Yep, I am entering into the last year in my 20's. I'm kind of sad about that. It's one thing to say oh I'm 20 something, but I honestly can say I might have a hard time next year saying I'm 30.

My 20's were great! I entered 20 married, ( I was 6 month's shy of 20, so yes that means I was 19.) I have had two of the most beautiful boys in the world! Plus I got to spend it with my best friend, my hubby! I am so excited to see what year 29 will bring me, and my family.

In honor of my birthday I thought I would show off my new do! They are not the best pictures, I had to take them myself!

We have an exciting weekend planned! Birthday and Mother's day celebrations all weekend with my family, I can't ask for more!

Happy Birthday Jordan!

Last Wednesday was my nephew's 14th birthday!! It's hard to believe he's 14, I remember the day he was born. It happened to be a Sunday, and super bowl Sunday! How time sure does fly. Only one more year and he will be driving...that's even scarier!

We had a little get together Saturday over at my parents house to celebrate! With the weather getting to the high 60's it was a great day to grill out!

Happy Birthday Jennifer!

Happy Birthday to the best friend anyone could ever had. Jennifer and I met way back in high school, ninth grade if I'm correct in English class. I was wearing, apparently a cheap pair of sandals and they broke. From then we have been best friends....actually more like sisters. High school was a blast, and I have so many memory's of our many night's out. She was there when I met Michael, and I was honored to have her in my wedding. She was a shoulder to cry or lean on when I lost my brother. When I gave birth to Christian and Colin. I was honored to be in her wedding and happy I was able to be part of her and Nathan's special day. Birthday, Holidays, good days and bad not matter what I know the she will be there for me. I am so happy to have such a great friend who accepts me for who I am, even though sometimes I think she would like to smack me upside the head, but that's what friends are for.

Happy Birthday Adelyn!!!

Happy First Birthday Adelyn!! A couple of weeks ago Adelyn turned 1!! We were all very excited to celebrate a little girls birthday, since up until now the past 13 years have been all about boys! Everything was PINK, and princess!! At one point it looked like someone poured a bottle of Pepto Bismol all over the kitchen. I must say I enjoyed buying a gift for a little girl, pink, ruffles, and baby dolls….such a change! I LOVE my boys, but it’s nice to see something other than cars, trucks and trains! Happy Birthday Colin!!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Colin!! I can’t believe you are already 2, it seems like just yesterday when you where just born. You are the light of mommy and daddy’s heart and we love you so much. You have the funniest personality, and are a joy to be around. You adore your older brother, as he adores you!! You are loving being able to wrestle, making forts, making lions sounds, and playing outside; there are times you come in kicking and screaming because it’s time to come inside. You play well with Christian, (for the most part!) and have a contagious laugh. Your favorite word is “no” and say it about a thousand times a day. Whatever Christian is doing, you are right behind him doing the same thing as if you where 6. You are an amazing little boy and we love you so much!

Christian's New Room!!!

Christian loves fire trucks, police cars and ambulance’s. For 3 years in a row you where either a fire fighter or police officer for Halloween. Every time we pass one on the road you make it a point to tell us. We have talked about re-doing your room to reflect your love for these, but it seems to always get pushed back, not anymore. While we were away enjoying our trip to Disney World, Grandmother and Buddy; (my parents) were busy re-doing your room for your birthday! The past 2 weeks I have been talking with my mom and getting ideas all together. You will not even recognize your room!
