Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope everyone is having a great day! We spent the weekend getting ready for today. Both boys are having parties today, so we needed to get there class valentines in order. Christian picked Sponge bob fun-dips, and Colin of course had to have Toy Story 3! We sat at the table and filled out all our cards, and Christian decorated his Valentines Box for his cards at school.

This morning we woke up to special surprises at the table! I found these cute mailboxes at Target and wrote there name on them with paint. I think we are going to keep them out all the time, and occasionally put little surprises in them. The boys will love it!

The both got a new movie, candy, a new red shirt and a card! Christian got a new Fireman Sam movie, and Colin a new Train movie.

For breakfast we had heart pancakes, with whipped cream and heart sprinkles!!

Since Daddy couldn't be here, we wanted to make sure we sent some love to him! I made these signs and took the boys pictures then we emailed it too him! He LOVED it!

What’s in a good book??

Honestly I am not a huge reader, never really have. I guess a little part of me is jealous of people who love reading, and can just “get into” a great book. There hasn’t been a type of book that completely appeals to me. I had made comments to my mom a while back about starting to read a few books I have heard about. I knew she had some, so she gave me a couple to start off. I sat them on the night stand and looked at them for a couple of days, I didn’t really have a lot of time, and reading at home with the boys running around, being loud wasn’t the most ideal place to be reading. Then we got snowed in! I thought I would go crazy! I finally told the boys to lay down and watch a movie, and that I needed some mommy time. I went and picked up a book and sat in our front room on the couch and started reading.

The first book I read was written by Mary Beth Chapman, wife of Stephen Curtis Chapman a Christian song writer, and mother to 6 kids!! The story was about her life, being married and raising a young family. Then God placed it in their hearts to adopt 3 little girls from China, after having 3 of her own. Then tragically their youngest son accidentally ran over one of the girls killing her, in their own driveway. It was amazing to read about how her faith pulled her through this, and is still getting her through it. I cried over the book, being a mommy myself. Such an inspiration!

The second book was written by Denise Jackson, wife to country music star Allen Jackson. The story of making a marriage, family, and life while all living in the spot life of Hollywood! Thru ups and downs, a separation, all while trusting God. At times wondering how or why, but at the end of the day her personal walk with Christ is what got her through it. It’s weird how something she can write about in her life, totally relates to something in my life.

I just finished my third book! Since I blog, I have become a “blog stalker!” I love reading blogs, people I know, people I don’t know. Pouring their life stories out in the open. Sometimes it can be very therapeutic, a feeling of getting out of your head and on to paper. Some blogs are happy, day to day life. Others, not so much. It’s a way to reach out to others, kind of a testimony. When I was pregnant with Colin I would follow blogs, and would link from one blog to others and so on. I happened to stumble across one by Angie Smith. A wife, a mother, and a Christ follower. She had three beautiful little girls, twins Ellie and Abby and then Kate. When Kate was 2 she found herself pregnant again, only this time it would be different. At 18 weeks, the found out there new unborn baby girl had many health problems, and with these problems she would not be able to live. She started her blog more as a way to inform family and friends of things going on, without repeating the story over and over. In a way my heart just went out to her. I had never experienced anything that she was experiencing, nor do I ever. I guess it was from a mommy to mommy, and being pregnant at the same time. Her story has become a huge testimony for others. She wrote a book about her experiences, the journey her and her family went on. Having her faith tested, pulled in different directions, but at the end of the day being grateful for God allowed her to go thru and overcome. Yes, it’s tragic and sad, but seeing how amazing God is and what HE is really is capable of doing…no words can explain. You defiantly look at life differently. She has written another book, and I can’t wait to read it. I highly recommend this book, be prepared to cry it will happen.

So I guess I have the “reading bug!” I’m looking for another good book to sink into. I guess I’m drawn to inspirational biographies. So if you have a good book to recommend, let me know.

Let's sell...

What is all of this, you might ask? Well a collection of clothes my sister and I have collected between 4 boys.

And we are selling it! There is a huge consignment sale that comes to the county fairgrounds twice a year, and it is HUGE! I have gone numerous times and bought things, I have even volunteered. This year I am a first time seller! There are so many guidelines to selling your things, clothes must be on hangers, facing left, tags on the right.....etc...etc! It has been a big undertaking, but I hoping to make a little money.

One of my best friends and her daughter came over this past Sunday and helped me out. We worked for about 2 1/2 hours and just got everything on to hangers. I still need to got through and tag everything, and sort according to size. Plus, Leigh has more things at her house that needs to be hung and tagged!

I get to go the day before the sale opens to the public and shop early! I'm very excited, since a lot of the really good stuff goes first! I'm hoping I don't spend as much money as I hope to make by selling. We shall see!

If you live in the area check it out, it's huge and has everything you can ever imagine having for kids! http://www.kidsignments.com/

Look who's a BIG BOY!!

After about 6 months or so of putting it off, I finally decided to change Colin's crib into a BIG boy toddler bed. He wasn't trying to get out of his crib, it was more that I didn't want to face the fact that he is growing up way to fast. I guess in some small way if he was still in a crib he would still be my baby boy, not really sure he would like it when is 5, but hey a mom's gotta try!

Michael has been all for it for sometime now, he has just been waiting on me. So a couple of weeks ago I said lets go. Michael changed it so fast I wouldn't have had time to change my mind. Colin LOVES it! He's able to climb in it by himself, and feels so much more independent! No matter how old he will get, or what kind of bed he is sleeping in...he will always be my little boy!
