Weekend recap!

We had a great weekend!! I don't think I accomplished much, well if anything, but it was a fun weekend. Since deciding to re-do our room, my mind has been full of thoughts and ideas. I have been to a few places checking out new things and I am so excited to finally get moving on it this weekend!

We spent a lot of time over at my parents house this weekend, the reason nothing got done at my house. Colin was a little under the weather but he didn't miss a beat. I love that summer is here, however I'm not loving the already 90+ degree weather we have been having! It was prefect weather for the sprinkler which the kids enjoyed on Sunday!

We had lunch over at my parents Sunday afternoon with a sweet lady from their church and her two kids. Her name is Yay (I think that's how you spell it!) and she will be leaving in July to head to Africa to be a missionary. She was born there and came to America as a little girl with her family to escape all the violence. Now years later God has called her back there to teach the children! The church has had many fundraiser to help collect money, school supplies and books so she won't have to worry about that once there. Please pray for her while she is there over the next year! God is doing some amazing things with her!

The boys played so hard all weekend that Colin was asleep Sunday night at 6:30 and slept all night long! The weekends seem to go by so quickly!

What's going on this weekend??

Friday is the last day of school! Yippee!! I'm not even a teacher and I'm excited for it!

Michael will be home and we will be working on our bedroom! Can't wait to see the finished product!

And I have a 4 day weekend! Doesn't get any better than that! Besides redecorating, we have some fun things planned to do as a family! I am so looking forward to it!

My thoughts...

I debated talking about this or not, but I have decided that I would as a testament of my faith. There has been a lot of talk on the news about a man who has predicted the return of Jesus being tomorrow May 21st. I am a believer in Christ, I know he died on the cross for my sins and I will spend eternity in heaven with him. Michael and I both believe this, as well as us teaching our children. I also know that one day he will return to earth. However the bible says no one will know the time or day of his arrival. Which means no man on earth can “predict”, “calculate” or “guess” for that matter when he will return. I do find it a little odd all the people who have left family, jobs, lives to teach about his returning. I believe that we should spread the word of God. It makes me sad when I over hear people talking about it and find it funny, or making jokes about it. Jesus is real, God is real and he will return. I do hope that one good thing comes from this. I hope any non-believer see all the talk, question it and look into the bible and realize they don’t have Jesus in their lives. I hope that you have Jesus in your lives, and have a personal relationship with him.

“No one knows about that day, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” Matthew 24:36

House Project #1

We have lived in our house almost 7 years, and right before we moved in we had just about every room painted and decorated a certain style. Now year’s later I have come to dislike something about each room! Our style has changed and I’m ready to re-do the inside of the house. I don’t know how much longer we will be living in this particular house, however we are currently still there and I have to be happy about it now. One room has taken a back seat to everything else in the house and that is our room, the master! We painted it a dark brown color before moving in since it match the bedding we had at that time. However that bedding has since long gone, and we have not really had a “style” ever since. We bought really nice furniture not too long after we were married and I love it. We have a king size bed, (the hubby is 6 ft 7!) and our room isn’t huge so it takes up a lot of space. Over time we have added an armoire (dark cherry in color) for our TV, a desk ( dark cherry and black), an elliptical machine (black), and our night stands (dark cherry) and what do you get? A brown box with a lot of other dark brown furniture! It makes a small room seem even smaller. I like to think I have good taste, and I get a lot of ideas from my mom. She’s a great decorator and had great ideas too! I have always thought your room needs to be a reflection of who you are and a little get-a-way. Somewhere you can go relax, and enjoy being together. Our room is none of that. I want to walk into our room and be happy about it, and I want Michael to come home and it feel kind of like a get away! So after a little convincing (not really he was pretty much on board from the get go!) We are going to have a “Master Bedroom Make Over!!” I would love to submit my ideas to HGTV and have someone come and red-do it for me, but I don’t think that would happen!

I’m so excited about getting started, and of course seeing the end result!

What do you have in your Master Bedroom that is a must? Or not so much? I'd love to hear any and all ideas!!

Weekend Fun!!

We had a great weekend! Saturday the boys and I spent the morning doing chores around the house, it cost me a little bit of money but I had to have some kind of incentive to get some things done!

That afternoon the boys went over to my parents so me and a couple of girlfriends could have a much needed girls night out! We went and saw the movie “Bridesmaids!” It was hilarious!! I could have done without some of the language, but over all a cute movie. We saw some previews for a few movies that will be out this summer, and I can’t wait. Comedy movies by far are my favorite, and I love to laugh! Hopefully we will be able to catch a few this summer! Afterwards we headed over to Longhorn and ate way too much! Since my birthday was the week prior I received a coupon for a free dessert! Yippee for free stuff!! We ate, talked and laughed so hard! It was a great girls night, and I can’t wait until the next one.

Sunday we headed to church. The sermons lately have been about family and this week’s sermon was about raising children. The sermon was great and I took away a few good points. At the end of the service while singing the closing song all the elementary aged kids came out and sung on stage! Christian was so excited, and was singing his heart out. It was a well known song we hear a lot on the radio so he was just belting it out! It was so cute, and I loved seeing him up there singing for Jesus!

After church we relaxed at home before heading to my parents for dinner. Then it was time to get ready for the week ahead. I was off yesterday and had a great day by myself. I got a few things done around the house, and have now decided to start a new project at home! (More to come later!)

Happy Friday!

It’s Friday and I am so thankful, it’s been a long week!! I have a 3 day weekend ahead of me and I am so looking forward to it! I know it sounds lame, but I am looking forward to taking the kids to school and actually going to the grocery store by myself. It might be a high light of the day! Don’t get me wrong I love my kids, but it’s just nice to take your time and it will be quiet. I have a ton of other things I would love to do too, but I’m not sure which ones if any will get done. I’m hoping the weather will be nice, I would love to lay out and read a little!

Tomorrow night is girls night and I am super excited! It has been so long since we have gotten together and it is much needed! The boys will be spending some quality time with my parents. It’s supposed to rain and I’m hoping it will hold off so they can play outside. We are going to be seeing the movie “Bridesmaids” and dinner afterwards. I hope the movie is as funny as the previews are!

Hope you have a fabulous Friday and an even better weekend!

Mother's Day 2011

Being a mom to my two boys is by far one of the greatest things in the world.

I have an amazing mother who has taught me so much about being a mother myself. I know how much my mom loves me and everything she has done for me, but when I became a mom myself I looked at everything from a different perspective. My mom is the greatest and I love her so much! It wasn't until I got older when she not only was my mom but also my best friend!

This past weekend I was able to celebrate my birthday, my sister's birthday, my mom's birthday and mother's day all in one! I love that I live so close to my family and whom I see very often. My grandmother (my mom's mom) and grandfather were also in town to celebrate with us.

Christian's Mother's Day Letter

I love when the boys make things for me, and each year for Mother’s day is no different. Christian is in school and they always do something cute and creative for me. I love to see how he sees things, and his take on me. This year his teacher typed up a letter and he had to fill in the blanks to best describe me. I find it hilarious how he sees me, and what he remembers. He can remember something I did one or two times but can never remember something I do every day or tell him every day.

I am 10 feet tall, and weighs 90.5 pounds (Ha!) I have brown and black hair and blue eyes. I like to eat spaghetti and Chicken (something) Everyday I go to work and after dinner I sit on the couch. (I find this so funny) My favorite show is E! News. My favorite thing to do is play his DS. He loves me because I am the greatest mom in the world!

Sometimes I wish I was taller, and of course skinner, or even better sit on the couch after dinner everyday. I do watch E! News, and I have on occasion played his DS! Who can blame him, he has some fun games, plus he looses it often!

I love the picture he drew, me under a rainbow!

I love these types of things he makes, and will cherish them forever.

I love him so much!

Jump...Jump...

With spring finally here and all this beautiful weather I like to take as many opportunities as possible to have the boys outside playing. Some of my best memories growing up were being outside playing with the neighborhood kids. Riding bikes, playing flash light tag or whatever being outside was the best! We have a pretty small back yard and we do our best to use our imaginations. We also live about 6-7 minutes from a fantastic park, but with gas prices getting high and the fact that I drive a big car it’s nice to stay home. So a few weeks ago when a friend from work said she was selling a jump house, I jumped on it! It’s a smaller one used for home purposes but it was perfect for the boys. Plus it’s portable enough that I could throw it in the back of the car and take it to my parents for all the kids to enjoy it. I defiantly got our money’s worth out of it, and I’m sure it will get a lot of use this summer!

Happy Birthday to ME!!

Happy 29th Birthday to me that is!!

Yep, I am entering into the last year in my 20's. I'm kind of sad about that. It's one thing to say oh I'm 20 something, but I honestly can say I might have a hard time next year saying I'm 30.

My 20's were great! I entered 20 married, ( I was 6 month's shy of 20, so yes that means I was 19.) I have had two of the most beautiful boys in the world! Plus I got to spend it with my best friend, my hubby! I am so excited to see what year 29 will bring me, and my family.

In honor of my birthday I thought I would show off my new do! They are not the best pictures, I had to take them myself!

We have an exciting weekend planned! Birthday and Mother's day celebrations all weekend with my family, I can't ask for more!

Here is to year 29!!!!

Mini-Easter Photo Shoot!

On Easter Sunday after church before heading over to my parents house we had a mini-photo shoot with the boys. I took a few in the back yard, but most off the road we live. It was supposed to be a new subdivision but has now become just overgrown. They put an old wood fence around the property and I thought it would be a great background. I was right and LOVE how they turned out!

This is Colin's usual face, always looks like he is doing something he knows he shouldn't.

Christian is at a stage where he's not really into getting his picture taken. I pretty much have to bribe him. I can't imagine why....I only take about a 100 pictures a month!

I love capturing these little moments of the two of them! They are growing up so fast and I want to capture every age!

Weekend Fun!!

We had a great weekend, and even better weather! Saturday morning we had a garage sale. Not as successful as I would have hoped for but, we were able to get rid of quite a few things. If you were looking for a bargain you got it at our sale. I wanted to get rid of things more than make money! The left over items got donated to charity, so over all win-win!

Saturday afternoon the boys and I headed up to Canton to attend my best friend’s graduation party. We have known each other for 15 years, and I could not have been more proud of her! She has attended college while working, getting married, and oh yeah donating her kidney to her husband earlier this year. WOW! Through it all she was determined to finish. She has received her teaching license and she is going to be a fabulous teacher! Her party was at a park near where she lives and the weather was perfect for it! They had awesome BBQ! The kids ran around and played. Colin was a little under the weather but we still enjoyed our time visiting with her and her family!

A friend of hers made this awesome cake! It was so cute, and delicious! I failed to get a picture of the graduate, or her and myself, or her and the boys! Oh well!

Sunday we woke up with the intentions of going to church, but poor Colin was still not feeling well. He has been running a fever off and on since Thursday night, and just was pitiful. So we laid around until about 1:00 before heading over to my parents to visit!

It was a great weekend….and a great start to a fun filled week!
