Sandra

I have been at my current job for 5 years, I started at one branch and worked there for 2 years before taking another position to join the “Travel Team,” I know it sounds awesome doesn’t it? Any-who, we have 7 locations and I travel in between them and fill in when and where needed. I can be at any branch on any given day. It’s always something different, and I have been able to form some wonderful friendships with some co-workers that I don’t think I would ever have if I didn’t travel. None of our locations are more than 30-35 miles from my home, but on most days I stay pretty close. When we started 3 years ago there where three of us, and we quickly went down to 2! I have talked about her before, but my other partner in crime is Sandra! I love her to pieces! She has such a big heart and an amazing personality; we just clicked from day one. She’s a mom of a handsome boy Adrian, and a great mom at that! Well a couple of weeks ago a new position with our company came up and she decided to go for it. It’s a job at one branch, so there won’t be any more traveling for her. She wanted a little bit more stability, and a set schedule. With traveling your schedule can change everyday even up to the very last minute. You learn to go with the flow. Once she applied, was offered the job and accepted, it went pretty quick in about a week. So for the past couple of weeks I’ve been at it alone. Today is her “lunch,” her, myself our direct supervisor and Retail administrator all went out for lunch to celebrate her time on the travel team and her new position. I am so happy for her, since this is what she really wants. Even though she won’t be traveling with me, our friendship has grown so much and that won’t matter. Plus I like to have a variety of friends, and she fills the “Mexican friend” spot! Good luck on your new position!

I just had to share this. As soon as we get home in the afternoons the boys are begging to go out side. I swear I think they would live out there if they could. I’m not complaining; them playing outside wears them out by 8! We recently where out at our normal weekly Kroger shopping trip and Christian asked if we could buy a fly swatter and it has quickly become a new favorite outside toy! I know pretty redneck, but they run around killing bugs and love every minute of it. Colin chase’s Christian and does exactly what he does, even though he probably has no idea what he is doing. Christian’s doing it, so he has to follow! So as Jeff Foxworthy would say….”You might be a redneck if……..you let your children play with fly swatters!”

We are alive....I promise

Yes we are alive…I promise! We have been so busy I have really slacked on my blog! Sorry, to all 3 of you that read this! We have been catching up with old friends, spending a lot of time outside playing in this beautiful weather we have been having, and just everyday life! I have a few posts already for this week so I hope to catch back up. April is quickly coming to an end and I can’t believe it will be May. I really hope I will be able to stay up on what’s going on with us in May. I was looking at the calendar and it’s pretty full! Birthday’s, family in town, work stuff, a wedding, and we are going out of town just to name a few.

I am still working out trying to get healthy and lose some weight. Working out is going great, I am averaging between 6 – 10 miles a week! The weight on the other hand is not coming off as quickly as I would like. I am going to try and shake things up a little in hopes to have a good weigh in this week. Two weeks ago I lost another 2 pounds, and last week I gained 1. It’s alright, I can really tell in my clothes so even if the scale doesn’t again with me I do!

Hope you all have a great Monday!

The system that blogger uses is easy, but you need to have a google account, and not everyone uses Google. Other blogs I read have found a new comment systems that is really easy to use, and anyone can leave comments. An added perk is I can comment back! So if you read my blog, and have had trouble leaving comments, please try out my new system! I love to hear what you have to say!

Friday weigh in....

It's Friday, and I am excited to start the weekend! I am proud of myself for keeping up the walking this week, 6.54 miles so far! It rained yesterday so I wasn't able to make it out, but I am very thankful for that rain. The pollen here has been HORRIBLE! Everything is covered, and the air even looks yellow! We where told be the weather man to stay in if possible, the pollen count has been way over 5000! It's considered bad when it's over 120!!

Today was weigh in day, and I must say I was a little nervous standing on the scale. What if I gained weight, or didn't lose any? Well, I am happy to say I have lost 2 pounds this week! YEAH ME! I'm very excited about that, and it makes me want to continue working hard!

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Oops...

While at my parents on Sunday the boys where out side playing, and at one point Colin came up to the back door crying. When we opened the door, he was standing there with a bubble gun attached to the back of his head! Once he walked inside he was fine, and stood there with his arms crossed while Buddy (my dad) and I tried to get it out. We eventually had to cut a little in the back. I have yet to give him his first hair cut, but we only cut about 3 strands. I was so proud of him standing there, being still and letting us work to get it out of his hair.

Easter 2010

We had a fabulous weekend! The weather was perfect, we spent time with family and friends, and celebrated the resurrection of Christ!

We had an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, finished up last minute shopping and came home to do a little cleaning.

Sunday we got up early and headed to church. Afterwards it was off to my parents for lunch and another egg hunt! We ate way to much, at least I did. The boys played outside all day, it was very hard to get Colin in come inside at any time for a little cooling off break. I had to bribe him with chocolate, but as soon as he was finished it was right back outside. Michael and Kenny, (my brother-in-law) headed to the lake after lunch since the weather was nice, while the rest of us chilled out. It was a wonderful weekend, not to much relaxing, but over all a great time. Here are some pictures from the weekend!

It’s Friday…..and spring is here! I am very excited about this warm weather. I am very proud of myself this week as I started walking/jogging. I will be investing in some new pants this weekend, since that pants I currently own don’t seem to want to stay up over my bottom when I jog. Trust me it’s a sight to see! Jog a little, pull up my pants, jog a little more, pull them up again, and repeat the process. So far I have walked 6.4 miles this week, I have felt good every day I have walked; such an accomplishment. I am the kind of person that wants instant results, and I know that nothing will change overnight. I am a little discouraged this morning, as I weighted myself and I am a pound up! I know just by walking 3 days I wasn’t going to lose 5 pounds, but I didn’t think I would gain weight. I have been watching what I eat, and drink. I have cut the amount of coke and sweet tea out dramatically. I have gone a couple of days without any. I don’t eat a lot, I have cut my intake of food down, yet I have stilled gained weight. I have given myself 2 months to see what I can do, and so far I am not impressed. If I could see some small ounce of a result, it would motivate me to work harder. I’m not giving up, but I am a discouraged, and I’m sure it will be on my mind while I walk it out later. I hope next week to have better results. I am going to try and not get on the scale until next Friday, so I hope it looks better than it did today. I’ll be going to the grocery store this weekend so I will pick up some healthy snacks to keep me motivated. So here is to a better 2nd week!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, it’s Easter! Remember why we celebrate it, and who we celebrate it for!
